A PRIMARY HUMAN RESOURCE.
|
It is becoming apparent to many people that being able to protect and defend ourselves is a primary human resource. Sadly we live in a society that is increasingly dangerous and potentially threatening.
Police response times to assaults are at an all time low, they will arrive but probably at the same time as the ambulance.

Threat, attack and confrontation are acts common to all countries.
Whether you are at home or abroad, it is important to reinforce our individual freedom through knowledge and the correct application of Personal Safety.
Personal Safety Training courses and workshops are offered to enable individuals to
assess, act and resolve this situation.
USING BODY LANGUAGE EFFECTIVELY
Body language gives it all away, feelings, emotions and thoughts.
By training our posture and stance correctly, we can assist in the communication of strong, confident and positive signals that removes us from the “victim mode”.
AVOIDANCE STATEGIES
Where am I going? How am I getting there?
How can I get back? Am I prepared for a change of plan?
Does someone important know where I am? What about my valuables?
Am I contactable? What do I know about the environment I am going to?
All these questions are put into a “B4 travel plan”, and a strategy is built to aid and support the individual’s Personal Safety.
UNDERSTANDING THE AGGRESSOR
By coming to understand the characteristics of the aggressor, we can support the methods of navigating our way around them.
Here we look into the profile of an aggressor or potential assailant.
What in their lives makes them behave in this way?
How can we spot the early signals from these people?
PROTECTING OUR PERSONAL ZONE
From a Personal Defence perspective, it is essential to maintain and protect the space around us.
By keeping this distance at a constant it makes confrontation controllable and allows de-escalation and diffusion techniques to be applied.
PHYSICAL SOLUTIONS TO ASSAULT SITUATIONS
This module is the most physical, it is introduced with an explanation on the different forms of attack: confrontational or immediate.
The topic of fight or flight responses is also covered, with how to recognize and utilise them.
Balance and reflex drills are used here to aid and condition the response system.
The module maybe be physical in nature but it provides the most fun and stimuli to the individual.
